The History of Concrete

16 & 17 OCT: JOHN WILSON PRE-REC Q&A

Loading...

Overview

Does anyone really think about concrete- the material that surrounds most of us most of the time? Documentary filmmaker John Wilson (How To) attends a Hallmark movie seminar and from there is springboarded into a Las Vegas industry conference that teaches him the difference between concrete and cement, leading to an odyssey unravelling how much of the material world is held together with thoughts and prayers.

“A weird, fun movie that goes in some very unexpected directions”

The New York Times

“I doubt any movie, especially any documentary, will make me laugh harder this year”

The Hollywood Reporter

“Profoundly and strangely universal”

The New Yorker

Why You Should See This Film

The brain behind How To with John Wilson aside, The History of Concrete is an incredible synthesis between YouTube-era video and where the rest of the world has gone. Struggling to adapt what is now "long" form content, Wilson throws himself headlong into a bizarre world- ours, in fact.
