Overview
The US-breakthrough of action cinema legend Jackie Chan, Rumble in the Bronx is presented here in its newly-restored Hong Kong cut. Ma Hon Keung (Chan) is an HK cop who has travelled to New York City (played noticeably here by Vancouver) to attend a family wedding. In classic Chan style he immediately becomes embroiled in a feud between rival biker gangs that escalates into an illegal diamond deal gone wrong, followed by a lot of beautiful violence and a hovercraft chase.

Plot, dialogue, characterisation- these are crutches for filmmakers without the confidence in their craft possessed by Stanley Tong (Police Story 3: Super Cop). Rumble in the Bronx pairs Chan's elegant choreography with Tong's ability to craft inspired stunt set-pieces and delivers one of the most entertaining action films of the 90s, screening with original mixed Cantonese-English dialogue and over 15 minutes of footage cut from the US release.
