Overview

That Half Barbaric Twang is a soulful, funny and deeply Australian road movie following acclaimed actors David Field (The Rover) and Geoff Morrell (Top of the Lake), alongside musical virtuoso Tim Oxley, as they journey across the Australian outback bringing their unique brand of "bad-ass gospel" country music to remote and marginalised communities, all while dreaming of one day performing at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Along the way, the trio encounter an eclectic cast of locals, sharing songs, stories, laughter and the occasional hangover, revealing a side of Australia rarely seen on screen.

Why You Should See This Film

The No.4 Band are unlike any other: armed with banjo, guitars, mandolin, harmonica, snare, djembe and soaring vocal harmonies, they deliver performances that are both joyous and deeply moving. That Half Barbaric Twang offers an intimate portrait of friendship, music and the beautiful chaos of life on the road.

Join us for this special Australian Premiere presented by Groovescooter, followed by an exclusive post-screening Q&A hosted by legendary music journalist Stuart Coupe, with The No.4 Band (David Field, Geoff Morrell and Tim Oxley) who will also perform a selection of songs live in the cinema
