Overview

College student Hana falls in love with an enigmatic man who reveals himself to be “wolf man”. Shortly after bringing into the world two half-human, half-wolf children, Ame and Yuki, their father is tragically killed while out hunting. Struggling to raise her children in the busy city, Hana boldly decides to move to a dilapidated house in the countryside in hopes that her children may one day decide their own path to happiness – whether “human” or “wolf.”

Why You Should See This Film

Mamoru Hosoda’s (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children) second original feature is a heart-wrenching modern fairy tale that portrays the life-changing act of having and raising kids in all its beauty and hardship; highlighting how extraordinary and strange the miracles of life can be, despite being so normal. Rich in emotion, gorgeously illustrated (with character designs by Evangelion designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto) and set to a poignant musical score by Masakatsu Takagi, Wolf Children is a tale of self-discovery and family bonds that you’ll never forget.
