We are looking for an experienced Assistant Cinema Manager to join the Golden Age team in Lorne. You will support the Cinema Manager to oversee daily operations and create a memorable customer experience for all visitors to the Lorne Theatre.
Reporting to the Cinema Manager and working alongside the rest of the team, you will set a clear operational direction for the venue, listening to guest and community feedback and building it into our overall vision for the space. Along with your team, you will ensure guests to the venue have an excellent experience and receive the highest level of customer service. With a keen eye for detail you will be passionate in developing the venue into a thriving, cultural hub for the whole community to enjoy.
Key Responsibilities
Venue Management
Deputise for the General Manager where applicable
Act as a key holder for the site and ensure all opening and closing duties are being carried out correctly
Help ensure all health and safety, HR, security and financial procedures are being upheld
Manage emergency procedures and be responsible for the safety of both staff and guests whilst on shift
Assist with stock control i.e. ordering, accepting deliveries, inputting wastage and performing monthly stock takes
Control costs related to labour, stock, and premises maintenance by monitoring orders and usage, in line with budgets
Organise regular team training and meetings
Along with the Cinema Manager assist in overseeing our licensed events and live music performances. This includes, the ordering of alcohol, booking security & staff, and overseeing the operation on the night
Uphold any licensing, legislative and business requirements that must be adhered to
Manage cleaning schedules and ensure all staff / the venue look presentable
Team Management
Assist and organise the training of staff in all current policies and procedures and mentor their development
Manage the performance of the venue’s supervisors and staff
Help build your team through a successful recruitment process
Lead and mentor your team to achieve improved business performance through upselling, venue promotion and guest satisfaction
Assist and create weekly staff rosters ensuring staffing levels are consistent with levels of business and submit to payroll
Promote a positive working environment for all staff on shift
Customer Service
Help build and implement a program of outstanding customer service from top to bottom
Provide guidance and assist with any customer enquiries / feedback
Be present in the venue during key business times to manage and improve customer’s experience
Have a thorough knowledge of all products and memberships on offer
Be up to date with any films currently on release as well as any upcoming events, promotions etc.
Actively participate in the venue’s programming and work with the special events and marketing teams
Ambassador
Familiarise yourself with the company’s mission, vision, and goals
Represent and promote our brand positively internally and externally, serving as connectors and advocates who can articulate and humanise our brand and its promise
Maintain a positive image of the brand at all times and help foster a sense of “one community” throughout Lorne and surrounding suburbs

Education and Experience
Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role
A background in cinema, retail or hospitality management
A proven track record of leading a team to provide top class customer service at all times
Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable success in delivering against KPIs

We are looking for a talented Front of House Supervisor to join the Golden Age team in Lorne. You will ensure the smooth running and operations of Front of House, including Box Office, Candy Bar & Cinema. You will embody the Golden Age brand and be responsible for ensuring consistently high standards in welcoming, hosting and serving all visitors to the Lorne Theatre.
This is a pivotal, customer facing role within the company. You will supervise a team of Ushers/Box Office staff and will oversee the service, safety and comfort of audiences before, during and after each screening or performance.
Key Responsibilities
General
Be proactive in providing theatre patrons and venue visitors with information and assistance whenever and wherever required, working with box office and front of house staff to always ensure a seamless level of quality service
Maintaining a constant vigilance in respect to security and safety of venue patrons and property, including checking emergency exits and venues for potential hazards or obstructions. Reporting issues to management as required
Acting responsibly and according to procedure in responding to emergency situations such as building evacuations, first aid incidents or disturbances, and acting in the role of Chief Fire Warden to ensure the safe evacuation of the venue in the case of emergency, including fire panel operations, security, and lighting
Ensure the cleanliness of the venue is maintained to a high standard with our FOH team
Acting in accordance with Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, venue code of conduct, policies and procedures
Along with the Cinema Manager & Assistant Cinema Manager assist in overseeing our licensed events and live music performances. This includes the ordering of alcohol, booking security, staff, and overseeing the operation on the night
Complete Shift reports on a daily basis with the right level of detail captured to aid the team to make informative business decisions
Perform minor projectionist duties when required. This will include the turning on & off of projectors and setting the scheduler for films to play
Supervision of Staff
Maintain a motivated and welcoming FOH team and ensure relevant information is communicated effectively to those staff members at the start of each shift and via email when required
Monitor staff in delivery of all current policies and procedures
Promote a positive working environment for all staff on shift
Ensure the Box Office and Candy Bar is stocked, presented perfectly and ready for service at the beginning of each shift
Monitor staff’s work performance, time keeping, general discipline and adherence to staff dress code
Assist with monitoring Box Office/Candy Bar staff performance, and oversee cash handling as necessary, ensuring tight procedures are met
Ensure 100% compliance in opening and closing procedures & checklists

We are looking for an experienced Cinema Projectionist to join the Golden Age team in Lorne. You will ensure the best cinema experience possible through the scheduling of films, ads, pre-show reels and maintenance of projection facilities at the Lorne Theatre.
Key Responsibilities
Ingest DCPs and KDMs, schedule and ensure efficient operation of cinema screenings, troubleshooting and escalating issues as they arise
Check films prior to screenings for quality assurance
Maintain projector server to ensure enough storage space for upcoming screenings
Communicate timings of each screening with Front of House supervisor
Liaise with programmers to manage arrival, delivery and return of DCPs
Convert various media files to DCP
Communicate with marketing and programming regularly to ensure up-to-date pre-show content (ads, trailers etc.)
Training of staff on basic projection tasks
Maintain projection room and cinema equipment
Other Duties

Box Office Sales
Set-up and close down the Box Office as per the opening and closing procedures
