Overview

It’s 1929 and Chicago jazz musos Jerry (Jack Lemmon) and Joe (Tony Curtis) accidentally witness a mob killing committed by gangster Spats Columbo. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the pair decide to get the hell out of town, immediately and undetected. A train headed for Florida is about to leave carrying an all-girl band, so the duo get all dragged up and sneak onboard, soon befriending sultry sweetheart Sugar Kane Kowalczyk (Marilyn Monroe). When they arrive in Miami, Joe assumes a second disguise as a wealthy millionaire in an attempt to woo Sugar, and a real life male millionaire starts hitting on Jerry in drag. When Jerry and Joe realise that a conference in their hotel is hosting Spats Columbo and his associates, things begin to get a little hectic…

Why You Should See This Film

Some Like It Hot will make you understand why people still care about about Marilyn Monroe, why screenwriters and directors still revere Billy Wilder, and why Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis could have never made another film and still been 'dudes for life'. And cinephiles, take note: Curtis' 'millionaire' character is based on Cary Grant. There's something for everyone.
