We’re honoured to present the Australian premiere of the new 30th anniversary 4K restoration of The Maiku Hama Trilogy. This cult favourite of `90s Japanese cinema stars Masatoshi Nagase (Mystery Train, The Box Man) as a hard-boiled, high-spirited and stunningly-dressed private detective (a play on Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer character) working out of the second floor of an old Yokohama picture house.

A love letter to American detective fiction and old Nikkatsu actioners, director Kaizo Hayashi’s neo-noir charms with a colourful cast (including appearances by Joe Shishido and Shinya Tsukamoto) while delving into the darkness lurking beneath the streets of contemporary Japan.
