Overview

James Woods is Max Renn, head of a Toronto television station whose hunt for new sensationalist programs is lands him with Videodrome, a cult TV show depicting torture, murder and sadomasochistic sex broadcasted from a secret location. When Renn goes on a talk show to debate the morality of his network's programming, he meets psychiatrist and radio show host Nicki Brand (Deborah Harry) and soon enough they start dating and sharing an increasing obsession with Videodrome and its reality-warping affects.

Why See This Film

Sexy, surreal, and seriously unhinged, Videodrome is one of Canadian horror mastermind David Cronenberg’s finest and most influential cinematic creations, and an absolute staple of the body horror canon. With groundbreaking special effects makeup by Academy Award-winner Rick Baker, one of Debbie Harry’s most memorable performances and a whole can of strange science fiction ideas about our relationship with media, this is essential viewing. It'll certainly frighten you into decreasing your daily screen time average.
