Overview
From writer/director Richard Linklater (Boyhood, Before Sunrise), this coming-of-age classic follows a rag-tag group of students in Austin, Texas celebrating their last day of high school in 1976. As the motley crew of teens heads to an impromptu keg party, they spend the night driving in, making out, lighting up and hazing freshmen. Starring a host of future stars, including Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck and Renée Zellweger, Dazed and Confused is a deliriously enjoyable cinematic treat.
Why You Should See This Film
It's high time you revisited the hazy intensity of high school in the all-too-familiar company of Parker Posey, Milla Jovovich and the inimitable Wiley Wiggins. Between an endlessly quotable screenplay and a truly all-star cast, it's little wonder that Dazed and Confused is considered an iconic '90s artefact.
