Overview

It’s Christmas Eve in jolly ol' London town and Scrooge (Michael Caine) is none too pleased. After taking a well-earned day off, his impoverished employee Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) returns home to the loving embrace of his children and wife Emily (Miss Piggy). Scrooge, on the other hand, settles in for a night of comfortable wealth in his miserably lonely mansion. He’s soon visited by his former business partners Jacob and Robert Marley, who forewarn him that before the night is through he’ll be harangued by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Will Scrooge be able to see the Yuletide season from a new perspective?

Why You Should See This Film

Narrated by The Great Gonzo and his buddy Rizzo the Rat, this is a delightful adaptation of Charles Dickens' seasonal gem from 1843. Transplanting the Muppet cast onto this beloved Christmas story was an excellent idea since the original tale — though classic and beautifully crafted — can be a bit of a buzzkill at this festive time of year. Waldorf and Statler are especially terrific as Robert and Jacob Marley, exemplifying just one of the many ways this film revels in the Christmas tradition with lots of belly-laugh dad jokes and heartwarming goofs.
