High-school dropout Eddie Adams (Mark Wahlberg) transforms overnight from nightclub dishwasher to ‘Dirk Diggler’ when he’s discovered by porn director Jack Horner (Burt Reynolds). It’s the 1970s, the adult film business is booming, and Dirk soon becomes a huge star thanks to his hunky good looks, youthful charm and… other assets. Having run out on his estranged mother and stepfather, Dirk’s filmmaking colleagues become his new family.
