Following on from the SOLD OUT screening and director Q&A of Going Down. Rob Susz, who's band Dynamic Heptonics feature in the film, is playing at Golden Age Cinema for free! Non-cinema go-ers are welcome to come and see one of Australia's most cult beloved band.
Haydn Keenan’s debut feature Going Down is an underseen landmark of Australian cinema and a vivid portrait of Sydney in the early 80s. Existing somewhere between Susan Seidelman’s Smithereens and Juliet Berto and Jean-Henri Roger’s Neige in its depictions of the thrills and dangers of urban life, Going Down is a visceral testament to friendship and making it at any cost.
Rob Susz has cemented himself as Australian rock royalty, with 'Soul Kind Of Feeling' as the most played song on Australian radio, and was recognised with the APRA music Song Of The Year award for the same song in1985, three years after his film debut in Going Down.
Doors open at 8:00pm, performance starts at 10:00pm.
