Sydney based singer-songwriters Tom Stephens (Tesse) and Georgia Mulligan began their collaborative relationship back in 2015 after meeting in the studio. This latest single arrives after a packed 2018 for both artists.
Stephens released his debut album How It All Unfolds under the collaborative name Tesse, celebrating the release with a packed out show at Sydney venue The Lansdowne as well as supporting a slew of high profile Australian acts including Jack River, Angie McMahon and Oh Mercy. 2018 saw Mulligan impress audiences at BIGSOUND, as well as appearing at Newtown Festival and supporting a stellar line of acts including Nadia Reid and Tiny Ruins.
Both artists have always valued being involved in other projects; Stephens and Mulligan have both been long standing members of the California born now Sydney based Ainsley Farrell’s live band. Stephens continues to appear in Mulligan’s live band from time to time.
“It gets exhausting focusing solely on your own creative pursuits. It’s refreshing diving into someone else’s headspace and seeing how they tackle the creative process”, says Mulligan.
Both Tesse and Georgia Mulligan are gearing up for a busy 2019, with Tesse currently working on their second album and Mulligan scheduled to release her debut album Mirror in March.
