Reflections VII

Meet us in the bar to see beloved Sydney trio World Champion on the Golden Stage as part of Reflections — our special monthly series of live music performances presented in partnership with the City of Sydney.

Comprised of Will Campion, Julian Sudek and Reg Harris, psych-soul-electronic outfit World Champion are back to shower fans with their signature sound we’ve been craving. Campion and Sudek originally formed the band after bonding over their love for psych-pop and electronica. Julian was a founding member of Mercy Arms and has since played with Canyons, FLRL and most recently George Maple & Bag Raiders. Will Campion has both been a bedroom producer, and alongside local Sydney musician Bus Vipers formed indie outfit The Chevaliers.

Quickly shooting to critical acclaim with their debut EP Avocado Galaxy in 2015 — dubbed by Noisey as “zingy synth-pop at its finest" — and cementing their fanbase with brilliant single Gun, they’re known for their electrifying live shows and die-hard devotees. Having toured alongside the likes of Toro Y Moi, Chkchkchk!, Jagwar Ma and Parcels, the trio now head underground for this intimate one-off performance at Golden Age.
