Parkville are a folk-pop trio from Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges. Cutting their teeth busking on the streets of Melbourne, Liam, Michael and Dylan soon developed a winning formula: a driving Mumford & Sons-style backbone featuring rich three-part vocal harmonies and soaring violin riffs, taking influence from The Beach Boys and Punch Brothers.
Settling on their name in late 2017, the band didn’t take long to arrive at their first release — The Peculiar Aftermath EP — from which singles “Shining” and “Brando” held #2 and #4 spots in the Triple J Unearthed charts for two consecutive weeks, as well as receiving nationwide radio play.
Last year brought Parkville the opportunity to support international touring acts and a hugely successful run of headline shows in Victoria, which critics praised as “nothing short of spectacular” (The Real Songwriters of Melbourne). This year brings the band’s first interstate tour in support of brand new single “Rooks” — including a Sydney single launch on our Golden Stage with support from Harry Heart.
