Australia
Vivid Music 2019

Toeing the line between pub rock and new wave, the music of Sydney-based three-piece Australia is fearlessly imaginative, undeniably danceable and quintessentially Australian.

Formed in late 2014, frontman Guy Fenech’s melancholic howls are matched by his subtle baritone croon and punctuate the pulsating synths and angular guitars. In the spirit of their name, which conjures images of the 1980s Pub Rock scene, Australia’s live shows are raw and immediate, cheeky and charming – oscillating between hypnotic indie rock and cavernous synth pop.
