Overview

Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Sam Rockwell, Alfred Molina and Steve Carell — oh my. Assembled by director Adam McKay (The Big Short), this preternaturally gifted all-star ensemble brings talent and then some to this gleefully horrifying tale of former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. From his adolescent years of rebellion to his morally questionable time as CEO of Halliburton Co. to his morally infernal tenure as VP, Vice traces Cheney's calculated rise through the halls of power with caustic humour and just a touch of revulsion.

"A Molotov cocktail of biopic, documentary and black comedy, with a thrillingly short fuse."
— The Telegraph UK
"Brainy, audacious, opinionated and fun, 'Vice' is a tonic for troubled times."
— Los Angeles Times
"Bale brilliantly captures the former Vice President’s bland magnificence in McKay’s entertainingly nihilist biopic."
— The Guardian

Why You Should See This Film

Here lies a monster movie of the political sort, a typical biopic steeped in atypical burlesque extremity and the calamitous terror of Grand Guignol. And that’s just the Bush Administration. Deservedly nominated for Best Makeup at the 2019 Academy Awards, Vice also manages a feat of transformation with forensically detailed prosthetic work disguising Bale’s looks as he melts into Cheney through the years.
