Rather than deciding whether to follow up the original Godfather with a sequel or a prequel, Francis Ford Coppola made both. The Godfather Part II jumps back and forth in time, with the prequel showing Don Vito Corleone (Robert De Niro) as a little bambino arriving in the U.S and coming of age on its mean streets. Meanwhile, the sequel is a continuation of the narrative from The Godfather, documenting the violent ascension of mob boss Michael (Al Pacino) as he continues to grow the family brand, expanding his mafia franchise into Las Vegas, Hollywood and Cuba with a multitude of bodies in his wake.

Why You Should See This Film

Not only is this one of the few sequels to equal its predecessor (along with James Cameron's scintillating Aliens), The Godfather Part II is often thought to have have surpassed the original. This fully-realised, epic story spans numerous continents and multiple decades, with outstanding performances from the likes of Pacino, De Niro, Keaton and Duvall. It won a total of six Academy Awards including Best Picture, Director, and Supporting Actor for Don Vito himself.

Leave the gun, take the cannoli. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Godfather, we’re presenting The Godfather and The Godfather Part II over two weekends, and each ticket comes with a ricotta cannoli from Pasticceria Papa on arrival. Now that’s an offer you can’t refuse.

Please note all tickets are $35 for this special event.
