Overview

From the gothic mind of effortlessly cool filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (Only Lovers Left Alive, Mystery Train) comes a truly deadpan spin on the tropes, tricks, brains and guts of the zombie genre. There’s something not quite right in the sleepy town of Centerville, with animals acting strangely, daylight hours fluctuating wildly and scientists left mystified. When a trio of dumbfounded cops (Bill Murray, Adam Driver and Chloë Sevigny) start to investigate, they soon find that the most unlikely of phenomena has hit their tight-knit community. In short: The Dead Don’t Die. Cue the disaffected dialogue, utterly bonkers set pieces and delicious cameos from some zombified Jarmusch regulars.

"A winningly eccentric way to usher in the zombie apocalypse"
— The Telegraph UK
"A Jarmusch joint through and through ... as charming, affected and perplexing as we’ve come to expect from the long-time darling of US indie cinema"
— Cinevue
"Jarmusch has pioneered his own sub-subgenre: the undeadpan comedy”
— Los Angeles Times

Why You Should See This Film

There’s surely never been a zombie flick quite so star-studded. From Tilda Swinton, Iggy Pop and Steve Buscemi to Tom Waits, Danny Glover, Selena Gomez and Carol Kane, The Dead Don’t Die is a raucous and rueful portrait of America at the end of the world. Gleefully satirising insatiable consumerism with Jarmusch’s signature flair, this is the rare comedy-horror that can lay claim to being a total original.
