Despite struggling for recognition duing her lifetime, Kahlo is now one of the most iconic figures in all of modern art. From illicit affairs and artistic triumphs to deep tragedies and revolutionary rumblings, Frida brings to life her unmatched, insatiable lust for life.

She negotiated with the Mexican goverment to shoot in never-before-accessed locations like Kahlo’s own home and Diego Rivera’s murals, as well as obtaining the permits to use Kahlo’s paintings throughout. Her stunning performance as Frida is a testament to her immense perseverance and dedication.
