Overview

This special screening is part of Photofields 2024, a Powerhouse program that brings together photographers working across astronomy, journalism, art, film, and philosophy to explore the role of lens-based media to connect with the sky, cosmos, and Country. It features the premiere of Liselle Mei's Human Computer, a short film exploring the work of female star measurers and focusing on Winsome Bellamy, who measured the stars at Sydney Observatory for 20 years. Our feature presentation is Theo Anthony's All Light, Everywhere, a documentary that examines persistent understandings of the camera as a scientific device intended to capture absolute reality.
