Overview

Deep in the Oregon wilderness, reclusive ex-chef Robin Feld (Nicolas Cage) leads a simple life. With a truffle pig as his sole companion, he spends his days foraging, cooking and selling his prized fungal finds to flashy young restaurant supplier Amir (Alex Wolff, Hereditary). All that changes, when one night his pig is stolen by a duo of masked assailants. Blind with rage and desperate to recover his beloved boar, Robin enlists Amir’s help to track down the culprits, leading him on an odyssey of revenge through downtown Portland. Visiting old haunts from his former life as a famous restaurateur, Robin’s porcine quest doubles as a reckoning with his past.

Why You Should See This Film

A revenge thriller starring Nicolas Cage comes with a certain set of expectations, which Pig cleverly subverts at every turn. With a disarmingly subtle, introspective performance from Cage, and a unique, pensive tone, Michael Sarnoski’s impressive debut feature has plenty of riches to unearth.
