Days of Thunder
Talented but unproven stock car racer Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) longs to win the Indianapolis 500 race. His big break comes under the guidance of veteran driver Harry Hogge (Robert Duvall) and the young hot-shot soon develops a fierce rivalry with a fellow racer (Cary Elwes). It's not until the two competitors are involved in a terrible accident that Cole is forced to reevaluate his career, with some much-needed help from well-coiffed neurosurgeon Dr. Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman).
Why You Should See This Film
Tom and Nicole, need we say more? Days of Thunder is essential viewing for early-'90s pop culture aficionados and all lovers of timeless showbiz romance. With a scintillating Hans Zimmer score (featuring guest guitar work from Jeff Beck) and some of the greatest, most excessive action effects of its era, this film is almost as iconic as its two lovebird stars.
Presented by Moods
Moods is a Sydney based fashion label run by Angus Truskett and Nathanael Noon. Their debut collection “Season 1” (2016) was an ode to band merch that never was, designed entirely on iPhone apps. “Crusin’” (2018), their latest release, is a sartorial love letter to Hollywood romances, 90s exuberance and the one that got away.
Moods will launch their super limited edition “Crusin’” T-shirt (available in short and long sleeve) before the screening of Days of Thunder — available for sale from 6.30pm in the Bar. Please note: film tickets do not include a shirt – both are sold seperately.
