Keep The Dream Alive
Since opening Golden Age in 2013 we've seen a community spring up around us. A community of people who, yes, adore cinema, but also people who are interested in more than the usual fare, people who like to come together to share the experience of what a great or interesting film can be (and how it’s often better paired with something from our bar). I’d like to personally thank you for being a part of this community with us and for supporting our wonderful staff, and also send another huge round of applause to the artists, filmmakers, comedians who have performed and partied with us over the last six and a half years.
We are an independent cinema (rare in this climate!) who have shown what can be done with a single screen, a bar, a stage, and a whole lot of style, and we’ve got no plans to lock up our lovely space for good. It saddens me greatly to have to turn off our lights for a little while, but as Soda_Jerk’s flickering neon artwork on the side of our building says: ‘PICTURE HOUSE / CURE US’.
All of us here at Golden Age are looking forward to when we can turn that popcorn machine back on, open those golden doors, and invite you warmly back in. Until then – please do stay in touch with us via our newsletter, and on Instagram / Facebook / Twitter, so we can continue to share cinematic magic in this new strange world.
All patrons who currently have tickets for films will be contacted today to arrange a credit to be used at a later date. As a small business we ask that you kindly consider accepting this credit to help us keep our staff employed during this unprecedented time. We understand this may not be possible for all of you and if you’re unable to do so we will gladly provide you with a refund.
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT US
The curtains may be closing for now but the show is far from over. Golden Age has been immediately impacted by this crisis. If you would like to share your love with our hard working team and help keep the dream alive, please consider supporting us by purchasing a Golden Gift or Film Club Membership.
