Insight: The War for Talent
Across the globe and across all industries, a company’s success is predicated on how well they attract, engage, retain and develop their human ‘talent’. If you want to win big in the war for talent, you need to understand how dramatically the landscape has changed, and what your workers want.
Business owners and leaders fear losing their workers to competitors, or to the lure of self-employment. On the flip side, most workers (85% according to Gallup’s 2017 State of the Global Workplace report) are disengaged and dissatisfied with their jobs. What they need is a better match up – the right person for the job, and the right environment within which they can thrive.
To help us understand how to utilise recruiting strategies and cultural engagement propositions to appeal to an increasingly complex and diverse talent ecosystem, we have assembled a panel of experts:
Esther Clerehan is the go-to recruiter for the creative industry, having placed some of the worked with some of the world’s biggest agencies and the industry’s brightest minds. She is a dedicated mentor and coach (2018 Mentor of the Year, B&T Women in Media Awards), and knows how to achieve a winning match between talent and workplace;
Shane Currey is Leader of Employee Experience within Deloitte’s Human Capital practice and TED speaker on unleashing creativity in corporations. He works with clients to co-create a complete workplace experience that unites workers and engages them in work that is productive, motivating and enjoyable;
Kate Messenger is Director of Meme Partners, a specialist consultancy, engaging employees to put more into and get more out of their work. Kate and her team help create meaning in the workplace, by finding alignment between organisational priorities and employees’ core needs.
