Comedians Talk Over: Die Hard
New York City cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) has flown into Los Angeles on Christmas Eve for a visit with his ex wife-slash-baby mama, Holly (Bonnie Bedalia). John accompanies Holly to her work Christmas party, and whilst he is getting changed into proper attire, a group of terrorists take over the rest of the group, holding all the other punters hostage. John slips away and a game of cat and mouse ensues, wherein his NYPD wits are put to the test, up against the twelve 'terrorists' (who are actually professional thieves, keen to nab millions locked away in the building - the terrorist ruse is just to mislead the police). Bruce Willis runs around in various stages of undress (singlet undershirt, no shirt, dirt, smudges, sweat, blood), he shoots hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and drops many killer one liners.
Why You Should See This Film
Die Hard is a classic action flick, from a decade when action films ruled without irony or insecurity. It spawned several sequels, it has classic good guys, bad guys, and memorable lines. Plus you get to see a really big, ugly office building in a city full of big, ugly office buildings (Los Angeles) explode.
