Overview

A taut, suspenseful and elegantly crafted followup, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II picks up right where the first film left off. With a vicious invasion of sound-sensitive monsters still threatening human existence, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) decide to venture beyond home turf to seek fellow survivors. They stumble across old family friend Emmett (Cillian Murphy), who’s been hiding out in a soundproof bunker. More of a lone wolf than a team player, he’s not at all pleased by their arrival. When the discovery of a transmission from a nearby radio tower hints at further survivors, the small group bands together to investigate.

“Might just restore your faith, not only in sequels, or in movies, but in humanity”
— The Washington Post
“An effective and engrossing followup”
— The Guardian
“Confirms that the taut brilliance of the first A Quiet Place was no fluke”
— Vulture

Why You Should See This Film

As with the first instalment, it’s a pleasure to witness a film that so values the shared cinema experience. Sitting completely hushed with a crowd of like-minded genre devotees makes for a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat ride. A worthy successor to the first film, A Quiet Place Part II even improves on the tension of the original, and the addition of Cillian Murphy is a welcome one. Be sure to set your phone on silent.
