A Night at the Roxbury
Despite being well into adulthood, brothers Doug (Chris Kattan) and Steve Butabi (Will Ferrell) still live at home and work in the flower shop owned by their dad (Dan Hedaya). They exist only to hit on women at discos, though they’re routinely unsuccessful until a chance run-in with Richar Grieco (Richard Grieco) gets them inside the swank Roxbury club. Mistaken for high rollers, they meet their dream women, Vivica (Gigi Rice) and Cambi (Elisa Donovan), and resolve to open a club of their own.
Why You Should See This Film
“Man-child movies” might just be our favourite comedy sub-genre, and A Night at the Roxbury stands at the apex. It is the most fun you can have in 82 minutes, and is one of the very best of the ‘90s SNL comedies, among such esteemed company as Wayne’s World and Coneheads. It also ranks among our favourite-ever movie soundtracks, with wall-to-wall club bangers including Haddaway's “What Is Love?” and Ace of Base's “Beautiful Life”.
